Cinnamon French Toast

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of thick bread (e.g., brioche, challah, or French bread)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Maple syrup or honey, for serving
  • Fresh berries and powdered sugar, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined. This will be your egg mixture.

  2. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and add the butter. Allow it to melt and coat the pan evenly.

  3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated but not soggy. Allow any excess egg mixture to drip off.

  4. Place the coated bread slices onto the hot skillet or griddle. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown and slightly crispy.

  5. Once the French toast is done, transfer it to a plate. You can keep the cooked slices warm in a preheated oven at 200Β°F (93Β°C) while you finish cooking the rest.

  6. Serve the Cinnamon French Toast hot with maple syrup, honey, fresh berries, and a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.
